In short

Tong has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. This page sets out our standards, how to report, what we do, and how to contact us.

Tong is for adults only

  • Tong is for people aged 18 or over, in every country. Nobody under 18 may use it.
  • Date of birth. If someone enters a date of birth under 18, sign-up stops and everything collected so far is deleted.
  • Live camera check. Everyone does a live camera check before anyone can see them. We estimate an age range from it. If the estimated range starts below 16, is entirely under 18, or is far from the age the person gave, a trained reviewer looks. When the whole estimated range is under 18, the profile stays hidden until the reviewer decides.
  • Photo checks. If the whole estimated age range of the face in a photo is under 18, the photo goes to a reviewer. Photos of children, including a person's own childhood photos, are not allowed, and anyone can report one.
  • Reports. A report that someone is under 18 is reviewed first, as one of our most urgent cases.
  • Confirmed minors. If we confirm that someone is under 18, we ban the account and delete it at once. We keep their mobile number in scrambled form for 2 years so it can't be used to sign up again.

What is not allowed

Anything that sexualises or exploits a child is forbidden on Tong, in profiles, photos and chat. This includes:

  • child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any photo, video or other content showing the sexual abuse or sexualisation of someone under 18, whether real, drawn, animated, edited or made with AI;
  • asking a child for sexual images, or sending sexual content to a child;
  • grooming: building trust with a child in order to abuse or exploit them;
  • sextortion: threatening to share someone's intimate images to get money, more images or anything else;
  • trafficking, or offering or seeking a child for sexual purposes;
  • sharing, asking for or linking to any such material, including as a "joke" or to "report" it to others.

How to report

You can report from anywhere in the app. Reports are confidential: the person you report is never told who reported them.

  • A profile or photo: open the profile, tap ⋯, then Report. For anything involving a child, choose They seem under 18, and also Sexual content or Inappropriate photo if they fit: reports with They seem under 18 go to the front of our queue.
  • A message in chat: press and hold the message (photo, video, voice message or text), tap Report, and, for anything involving a child, choose They seem under 18, and also Sexual content or Threatening to share my images if they fit.
  • After a block, or after a chat ended: Settings → Privacy → Blocked people, or Report someone from a past chat, for 30 days.
  • Without the app: email contact@tong.party with "Child safety" in the subject. Describe what you saw and where, but don't attach the material.

Please don't download, screenshot, save or forward the material, even to report it. Reporting it in the app copies what our team needs.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 999 in Bangladesh, or the local emergency number where you are. In Bangladesh, you can also call 109, the free 24-hour helpline for violence against women and children. For a child who needs help, you can also call 1098, the free Child Helpline.

What we do

Chat text and voice messages are never read or analysed automatically. Every chat photo and video, and every profile photo, is compared with lists of known child sexual abuse material; anything else in chat reaches us through reports. Photos on profiles are also checked before anyone sees them.

  1. We review it first. Reports of someone under 18, and threats to share images, go to the front of our review queue. We aim to act on them within 1 hour, and we review every report within 24 hours.
  2. We stop it at once. The reviewer suspends the account straight away and marks the case for an admin. The account disappears from Tong and its chats are frozen.
  3. We ban. An admin bans the account. Banned people can't sign in, and their number can't be used to join again for 2 years.
  4. We keep the evidence safe. The material copied into the report is placed under legal hold, so no deletion job removes it. Our staff never download or share it. It is kept only until the police no longer need it, then deleted.
  5. We report it. When we find child sexual abuse material or a child at risk, we report it without delay to the police in Bangladesh; to the Australian Federal Police through the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE), because Wevention is an Australian company; to the CyberTipline of the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) once our registration with it is complete, which shares reports with police around the world; and, when someone involved lives in another country, to the police there. Every report is recorded.

Requests from law enforcement

Police, courts, regulators (in Bangladesh, for example the BTRC and the National Cyber Protection Agency) and other authorities can contact us at privacy@tong.party, with "Law enforcement request" in the subject, from an official address. Please include the legal basis for the request and what you need. If someone's life or safety is in immediate danger, write "Emergency" in the subject: we look at emergency requests first. We answer requests that are lawful under the law that applies, and we give only what the request needs. We tell the person concerned unless the law, a court order or someone's safety prevents it. If an authority lawfully directs us to preserve data while it investigates (in Bangladesh, for example under the Cyber Protection Act 2026), we keep that data, hidden, until the direction ends, even if the account is deleted. Where the law requires it, we keep the request and what we gave confidential.

Following the law

We follow the child protection laws that apply to Tong. In Bangladesh these include the Cyber Protection Act 2026, the Children Act 2013, the Pornography Control Act 2012 and the Prevention of Oppression Against Women and Children Act 2000. In Australia, where Wevention Pty Ltd is based, they include the Criminal Code Act 1995 and the Online Safety Act 2021. We follow the reporting duties of these laws, and of the law of any other country that applies to a case.

Our child safety contact

Tong's child safety contact is Tong's founder.

  • Email: contact@tong.party, with "Child safety" in the subject.
  • This contact can speak about Tong's child safety practices and how we handle reports and law enforcement requests.
